The Cole Thompson Big Heart Foundation was established to honor the life, legacy, and enduring impact of David Cole Thompson—a devoted husband, father, coach, outdoorsman, leader, and friend whose presence touched countless lives throughout Texas and beyond.
On June 18, 2025, Cole unexpectedly passed away from a heart-related event at just 42 years old. While his time with us was far too short, the example he set through his faith, character, generosity, and love for others continues to inspire those who knew him.
Cole lived life with a full heart. Whether he was coaching youth baseball, serving his church and community, leading at WeatherShield Roofing & Sheet Metal, sitting in a deer stand with his boys, or showing up for a friend in need, he approached every opportunity with passion, purpose, and authenticity. He believed in investing in people, creating meaningful relationships, and leaving every place better than he found it.
The Cole Thompson Big Heart Foundation exists to carry that spirit forward.
Our mission is to raise awareness about heart health, support organizations dedicated to heart disease research and prevention, and create opportunities for communities to come together around the values that defined Cole's life: faith, family, service, and friendship. Through fundraising events, charitable partnerships, educational initiatives, and community engagement, we hope to make a lasting impact in the fight against heart disease while honoring the legacy of a man who impacted so many.
Our Promise
We will never forget the man who inspired this mission.
A husband who loved fiercely.
A father who led by example.
A coach who invested in kids.
A friend who showed up.
A leader who made others better.
And a man whose heart continues to make a difference.
